Michael Dyson Associates Ltd, is an established, successful and prominent multi-disciplinary construction consultancy providing a comprehensive range of professional services to the social housing sector.  Established in 1980 we have four decades of wide-ranging experience working with clients throughout the UK on new build and refurbishment schemes.  Retrofit has always been a core part of our business under previous Government funding initiatives like Decent Homes, ECO, Green Deal etc and so the progression to fit zero energy homes represents the next step in our clients’ aspirations involving solutions such as EnerPHit, Passivhaus based on whole house and fabric first retrofit.

The Role

Based at our modern Head Office in Huddersfield and offering a flexible/hybrid working environment, this is a new and exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic, technically able and driven individual who will oversee and lead on sourcing new opportunities as well as supporting successful project delivery of our Retrofit/Decarbonisation schemes for our clients.  Upskilling existing staff, growing capability, expanding capacity, developing new fee earning opportunities and supporting the delivering of projects will be key requirements of the role.

This position is ideal for someone who wants to work at the forefront of delivering the UK’s decarbonisation commitments and understanding how we need to support our clients in achieving this.  Supported by our Operational and Business Development senior management you will need to be able to competently deliver Decarbonisation/Retrofit/Sustainability consultancy advice.

Ideal Candidate:

  • Accredited construction related degree
  • Accredited Retrofit Assessor and Accredited Retrofit Co-Ordinator

(Level 5 Diploma Retrofit coordinator and risk management)

  • Proven experience/knowledge in Sustainability/ Decarbonisation/Retrofit
  • Project delivery experience in the built environment
  • Appreciation of building fabric and renewable technologies for residential properties
  • Awareness of current/upcoming funding streams for Energy Efficiency Measures
  • Detailed knowledge of PAS2035 and Trustmark procedures
  • Experience in attending Design Team meetings and advising on compliant PAS2035 systems/details
  • Ambitious and commercially minded
  • Enthusiasm for growing new opportunities in a fast-moving market
  • High level of energy with lots of drive and a can-do attitude
  • Confident communicator & experienced in delivering results
  • A ‘self-starter’ and can be trusted to work with a high degree of autonomy
  • Full UK driving licence as this position will require travel to clients’ offices/ sites throughout the UK and some overnight stays where required
